Dear GeoMapApp user -

We are pleased to announce a new release, version 1.6.2.  The new release
can be obtained from:
   http://www.geomapapp.org/

Click "Download Options", select your operating system, and click "AGREE"
at the bottom of the page.  Alternatively, if you launch your existing
version of GeoMapApp, you will be prompted to download the newest version.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
   - To use the new digitizing functionality in "Bathymetry, Gravity and
 Magnetic Profiles", "Multi-Channel Reflection Profiles", and "Single Channel
 Reflection Profiles", a PC user must right-click in the graph area and 
 a Mac user must Control-click in the graph area to bring up a "Copy
 Information to Clipboard" menu, where the user may then click to copy the
 information to the clipboard.  The information copied is recorded at
 the moment of the right-click/Control-click.  Please refer to the relevant
 sections of the version comments to see what information is copied.

OTHER CHANGES:

   IN THE FILE MENU:

   Connect to WFS:
   - All study/focus site bounding boxes now work correctly.
   - Example URL fixed.

   Import Grid:
   - Changed "Import Grid" to "Import Grids".

   Import Data Tables:
   - The axes labels for the graphing tool now display enough digits to
 indicate what the graph intervals are.
   - The "Lasso Tool" button interacts correctly with the zoom buttons in
 the main toolbar (when one of the zoom buttons are selected, the lasso
 button is deselected, and vice versa).

   Preferences:
   - Titled Preferences window "Preferences"
   - Added "Server Options" to the "Preferences" window.  An alternate server
 can be selected from a drop-down list, a password must be entered to use
 http://dev.geomapapp.org/.  The proxy options are under development and
 are currently disabled.

   IN THE AVAILABLE DATA MENU:

   Bathymetry, Gravity and Magnetic Profiles:
   - Added tool tip text to inform the user that right-clicking allows them
 to digitize the current point.
   - Changed the titles of the data type radio buttons in "Bathymetry,
 Gravity and Magnetic Profiles" to more clearly convey the data type being
 selected.
   - The latitude, longitude, and z value of the selected data type for the
 current point (the point where the cursor is in the graph) on the selected
 track is now displayed in the main toolbar.
   - A right-click brings up the option to copy to the clipboard the cruise
 name, distance along the track (in km), longitude, latitude (degrees-minutes
 and decimal), and z value (in that order) of the current point on the
 selected track.  The user must click on the option that the right-click
 brings up to actually copy the information.  On a Mac, the user must hold
 down the "Control" button and then click to bring up the "Copy Information
 to Clipboard" menu.

   PetDB Bedrock Chemistry:
   - Changed "PETDB Bedrock Chemistry" to "PetDB Bedrock Chemistry".
   - Renamed "Open PETDB web page for first selection" button to "Open PetDB
 web page for first selection".
   - The "Lasso Tool" button interacts correctly with the zoom buttons in
 the main toolbar (when one of the zoom buttons are selected the lasso button
 is deselected and vice versa).
   - "Open PetDB web page for first selection" now brings up the new,
 correct PetDB URL.

   Multi-Channel Reflection Profiles:
   - Added tool tip text to inform the user that right-clicking allows them
 to digitize the current point.
   - The longitude and latitude of the current point for the selected MCS
 cruise line are now displayed in the main toolbar along with the CMP# and
 the two-way travel time (in seconds).
   - Label for x-axis of profile changed from "Shot#" to "CMP#".
   - Changed the default split of the view area to make the view windows
 more visible.
   - Cursor changes to wait cursor while loading a profile.
   - Added tool-tip texts to the buttons in the view area.
   - Changed the appearance of the "Negative/Positive Image" toggle button
 to better reflect its functionality.
   - Added zoom buttons to the view image area.
   - A right-click brings up the option to copy to the clipboard the cruise
 name, distance along the line (in km), CMP#, two-way travel time (in
 seconds), longitude, and latitude (in that order, with both degrees-minutes
 and decimal) for the current point on the selected cruise line.  The user
 must click on the option that the right-click brings up to actually copy the
 information.  On a Mac, the user must hold down the "Control" button and
 then click to bring up the "Copy Information to Clipboard" menu.
   - "Save segy" in the "Save what?" window accessible from the view area
 changed to "Download segy from UTIG".  This option is now separate from the
 other save options (cannot be selected with the other save options) and
 will now open a browser window to the UTIG site for the selected cruise.

   Single Channel Reflection Profiles:
   - Added tool tip text to inform the user that right-clicking allows them
 to digitize the current point.
   - "btz" in the bottom data display changed to "backtrackz" to more
 clearly convey what is being displayed.
   - Longitude and latitude in the bottom data display now have "WESN"
 labels.
   - Current distance along the selected leg is now displayed in the data
 label at the bottom of the GeoMapApp window.
   - A right-click brings up the option to copy to the clipboard the
 information contained in the data label for the current point on the
 selected leg.  The information contained in this label varies depending on
 where the cursor is, please look at the data label to determine what is
 being copied (the information being copied is in the exact same order as
 the data label).  The user must click on the option that the right-click
 brings up to actually copy the information.  On a Mac, the user must hold
 down the "Control" button and then click to bring up the "Copy Information
 to Clipboard" menu.

   IN THE TOOLBAR:

   Profile Button:
   - Units are now correct for the currently loaded grid in the graph area
of the Profile tool.
