Dear GeoMapApp user - 
 
We are pleased to announce a new release, version 1.6.4.  The new release 
can be obtained from:

Click "Download Options", select your operating system, and click "AGREE" 
at the bottom of the page.  Alternatively, if you launch your existing 
version of GeoMapApp, you will be prompted to download the newest version.

Choose a Base Map Projection

   - The Mercator map is always the default selected base map projection


Main Map

   - Double-click will center map view on the spot that is double-clicked


Main Toolbar

   - Added tool-tip-text to the zoom buttons in the main toolbar to indicate
their function and the corresponding key command.

   - "Pan" button added to main toolbar, selecting "Pan" allows user to drag
map in the direction they want to move the map.

   - For the "Save As..." button, instead of an option to save as a "GRD"
file, the user now has the option to save as either a "GMT-4 GRD" file or a
"GMT-3 GRD" file.


Grid Options/Grid Layer Dialog

      - Color adjustment tools now accessible via "Palettes -> make custom
palette"

      - "Palettes -> save palette" is now "Palettes -> save custom palette"

      - Map colors automatically adjusted when the color palette is
adjusted.

      - Profile button added to do profile for that particular grid

      - Grids can now be saved and read in both "GMT-3" and "GMT-4" GRD
format.

      - The save button in the "Grid Options/Grid Layer Dialog" window now
brings up the same save options as the "Save As..." button in the main
toolbar.


Main Menu Bar


   File -> Import Grids -> Browse Your Own Disk...

      - GMT-4 format grids can now be imported.  Additionally, all GMT grids
can now be saved in GMT-4 format.  "Version 3 GMT grd files" is now "GMT
grid ( .grd )".

      - "Confirm Projection & Bounds" window now appears when loading GRD
files, allowing the user to scale the z-values when importing these files.


   File -> Import Data (Tables)

      - In the "Custom Graph" window accessible from "Import Data (Tables)"
via the "Graph" button, the selected value in the "XPlot Column: " combo box
is no longer the last on the list.

      - The limit on the number of data points displayed on the map while in
the "Import Data (Tables)" section has been increased from 5000 to 10000.

      - "Custom Databases" window no longer displayed

      - "Scale Symbols" button changed to "Scale by Value" to better
indicate functionality

      - "Color Symbols" button changed to "Color by Value" to better
indicate functionality

      - "Color" button in "Config" window (accessible via "Configure"
button) changed to "Color All" to better indicate functionality


   Available Data -> Select Data From Menu -> Custom Data Viewers ->
Bathymetry, Gravity and Magnetic Profiles

      - Shift-click now copies digitize info to clipboard on Mac (still
right-click on PC)

      - "View Profile" no longer de-selects the cruise in the list


   Available Data -> Select Data From Menu -> Custom Data Viewers ->
Multibeam Bathymetry Swaths

      - In "Multibeam Bathymetry Swaths", the "Download selected ping file"
button now opens a URL that retrieves the selected ping file using the file
UID and data set UID.

      - Changed "Cruise Info/Download ping files" in "Multibeam Bathymetry
Swaths" to "Cruise Info" to better indicate its functionality


   Available Data -> Select Data From Menu -> Custom Data Viewers ->
Multi-Channel Reflection Profiles

      - Shift-click now copies digitize info to clipboard on Mac (still
right-click on PC)

      - Cursor button and digitize button added to "Multi-Channel Reflection
Profiles"

      - CDP# now recorded as integer when digitizing


   Available Data -> Select Data From Menu -> Custom Data Viewers -> Single
Channel Reflection Profiles

      - Shift-click now copies digitize info to clipboard on Mac (still
right-click on PC)


   Places -> world

      - Added key command "Ctrl-w" on PC and "Command-w" on Mac to select
"world" from "Places" menu.
